Francisco has focused his professional career in the energy area and leads this practice at PRB.

In the area of electricity transmission, he has participated in numerous transactions and in all types of regulatory matters in the sector, such as project bids, open access requests, interconnection contracts, discrepancy processes before the Experts Panel and processing of bills, asset valuation studies and qualification of facilities, as well as in various instances of relations with the different authorities of the electric sector (Ministry of Energy, CNE, Coordinator and SEC).

 

He has also advised several clients in M&A processes for the acquisition of utility scale and small distributed generation projects, providing a regulatory and commercial vision in their negotiation stage to be acquired, in addition to a series of other matters related to the generation market and the development of projects in this segment, such as negotiation of PPAs, project development contracts, constitution of easements, among others.

 

Along with the above, in recent years he has developed strong experience in desalination, both in the bidding processes of such infrastructure as well as in the negotiation of contracts (BOOT, EPC, etc.), water supply contracts, and advice for the financing of these projects and obtaining the associated permits. On the other hand, he has also participated in the development of hydrogen and green ammonia projects, contributing with the regulatory analysis on these matters, as well as in the subsequent development of these projects (negotiation of easements, lease agreements, energy supply contracts, among others).

 

He has also developed extensive experience in corporate matters, actively participating in internationalization processes and as a tax advisor, in addition to her practice in capital markets in matters such as debt issuances in domestic and international markets.

 

Prior to forming PRB, he worked at Transelec S.A., Shearman & Sterling LLP and Barros Errazuriz Abogados.

 

Francisco has been highlighted by Legal 500 as a Next Generation Partner and also in the Best Lawyers ranking in the energy area. Prior to that, he was recognized in GC Powerlist, The Legal 500, which highlights corporate lawyers who are driving the legal business in Chile.
